Christian counseling and secular counseling share similar desires to assist people in overcoming their problems. They both strive to help people find meaning and joy in their lives and to become healthy and well-adjusted individuals both psychologically and emotionally. However, Christian counseling and psychotherapy emphasizes and encourages adherence to Biblical principles and Christian spirituality.
Christian counseling and psychotherapy makes use of traditional philosophies and techniques from psychology as well as Biblical principles and theology. Christians who may be struggling with emotional difficulties, mental health problems or relationship issues will not only receive professional therapeutic assistance for those issues but, will also learn how to manage or overcome them in a way that is congruent with their Christian belief system.

Christian counseling and psychotherapy is for Christians of any denomination or anyone else who may interested in learning more about the Christian faith or how to adapt Biblical principles to their lives. For those of another faith, keep in mind that fifty percent of my case load is made up of clients that either do not have any strong religious beliefs or they come from different religious/spiritual backgrounds.
In no way will I impose my own faith on a client. I have conducted counseling and psychotherapy for many people of many different faiths and I have never had any issues or complaints reported. If a client is interested in learning more about the Christian way of life or the therapeutic aspects of Christian counseling I will be glad to share the details. No matter where prospective clients are emotionally, psychologically or spiritually, counseling and psychotherapy can be extremely beneficial in helping them to improve their mental health and their way of life.
